On the wide, traffic-free toll roads |
Around noon on Christmas, we loaded up the van & headed out of Manila. About a two hour's drive north and west is Subic Bay, a popular beach resort area. It sits on the South China Sea, and was home to a large US Naval Base for much of the 1900's. Nowadays it is built up for tourism and offers many attractions for people like us to enjoy!

We stayed at the Casablanca with our families each staying in a condominium for two nights. It was here that our kids finally started sleeping in past 7am and adjusting to jet lag.

At the Camayan Beach Resort Subic Bay |
When we arrived, we rested for a bit in our rooms and then headed out to see the Cayaman Beach Resort, where we'd be heading the next day. After grabbing dinner at Shakey's Pizza we came back to the hotel and the kids insisted on swimming in the pool, while we ate it at the poolside. A very non-traditional Christmas dinner!
