One Year Old!

It's hard to believe that we now have a one year old. We have spent a lot of energy these past couple of weeks, preparing for the celebrations. First, we partied with Papa's family at a Chinese buffet (lots of people!) last weekend. Tonight, our son's actual birthday, we had a smaller gathering at our house for dinner & cake with family. The two parties were a lot of fun. Our son, of course, has very little idea of what's going on. We have learned, however, that he is afraid of blue cakes in the shape of a bear's head (both times, he refused to eat it). So much for all of Mama's efforts to make it...It looked cute, though!

On a more sentimental note, we are so thankful for God's grace and blessing on our family. Our lives have changed so much since just a year ago. It is hard to imagine life without our son. We are thankful for his health and the joy that he brings to those around him. We are excited about the plans God has for this little boy.

What a crack-up. I can't believe he wouldn't eat any of that adorable cake. In all of the 1st birthday parties I have been to, (and there have been many), I have never known a kid to not eat their cake. He is a special boy!
