Beach Weekend

Finally! Our family was able to get away for a mini-vacation. With our daughter's birth in the middle of summer, we pretty much weren't able to go anywhere all summer, either right before or after she was born. Plus we had to use hubby's vacation days when our daughter arrived, so we don't have time for a long getaway. But, God is good, and we were able to have a 3 day weekend together at the coast. Yeay! We really needed to spend some time away from our regular routines and chores to just hang out together as a family. It is good to play together. We sort of "threw the rules" out the window for a few days, didn't worry about what we ate & let our son watch TV in the am, so we could sleep in longer!

The only bummer was that the first day was cloudy and gray, and the second day it rained pretty much most of the day. We stayed at a beautiful home, due to the graciousness of our relatives who own it, which made it nice even when we had to stay indoors. Fortunately the third day was absolutely gorgeous!

Our son loved the beach. He was SO excited about building sand castles with us, finding shells, and getting his feet buried in the sand! He actually cried in the car on the way home when it sunk in that we were not going to be staying at the beach anymore. Our daughter, of course, had no clue where she was, but when you're 2 months old, every day is a fun, new adventure!

Here are a few photos from the weekend (with more on the sidebar):

It recalled all of my memories of Bella's growing "footprint" by reading Nia's growing diary. Very nice to see your sharing of the pics. Even a mini family gathering is very great!
