What We're Up To
We are having a busy fall so far...here's an overview of life lately.
Gymnastics!
Our son is taking his first gymnastics/tumbling class and loving it! I was nervous about committing to a getting to a class knowing that I'd have a newborn in tow, but the time works well & so far it is a great chance to get out of the house. Since we have friends in the same class, we usually end up having a lunch date afterwards too! Here our son is receiving a ribbon for passing his first group of skills.
Birthday parties! I haven't had the chance to take photos of all of them, but it seems like a lot of people are celebrating lately. Here are some pictures from a cooking birthday party, hosted at our local Young Chefs Academy. Our son was the only boy there, but it didn't seem to bother him at all. He got lots of attention from the birthday girl's older sister who helped him out.
Fairs! We've been to two of them in the past week. I love this time of year, getting to see all of the local produce and the animals raised by 4-H kids. And, of course, eating junky fair food is fun too!
Home Preschool! My neighbor has a 3 year old girl, and we decided to start doing a very informal preschool playdate with our kids for a couple of hours, once a week. To give us some kind of focus we decided to feature a "Letter of the Day," starting with "A" and so forth... We're alternating houses and planning the activities. So far, they are enjoying it.
Enjoying their Banana Bread
The days are definitely full. In addition to all these older kid activities, we are still adjusting to having a newborn again. We are really blessed that she is a pretty easy baby. She naps on the go and is a good eater too. We are also very grateful that she is usually sleeping through the night now! We're trying to savor each moment and enjoy the different phases that our children are in, but as you can imagine the days are flying by for us. I'm beginning to see why everyone always says that kids grow up so fast.
