Our Latest Trip

Last weekend our family had the opportunity to volunteer at an international student conference at a beautiful retreat center by the sea. We spent two nights there, and it was a learning experience for us all! Mama had to adjust her expectations for how much she could realistically help out with, and also which activities she could participate in. Having a little one limits how late you can stay up playing games, or sleeping out under the stars. We still had a fun time, hanging out with students, meeting old friends and hearing a great speaker. We even managed to squeeze in a short hike and a few rounds of Boggle.

Our little guy once again proved that he is a patient and flexible traveller. (good thing, since we've got a much bigger trip planned for June!). He didn't particularly like his bed at the conference though, and ended up sleeping with us, which was actually the first time we've all shared a family bed. The first night no one slept much, but the second night was much better (we were all too exhausted to care who was kicking who!) Our son's highlights were definitely the boat ride and all the attention he got from students doting on him. Here are a few photos!
