Our Flowergirl

This past weekend, our little girl had the privilege of serving as the flowergirl in her auntie's wedding. It was really a happy occasion, as our sister, who we love & admire dearly, (& who has waited for 41 years for God to bring the right man into her life) became a bride & wife. It was a very large wedding, the church was packed and the reception was even more so. People flew in from Canada, China & the Philippines to attend.

Getting dressed up and ready for a wedding is enough work for me to do when all I have to do is get myself ready. Getting two little ones all dolled up takes it to a whole new level. Especially when one of them is actually in the the bridal party. Fortunately from my son's ring bearer experience, I knew that her performance didn't really matter...but I still wanted her to look cute!

So, I bought some foam rollers to curl her hair... and silly me, didn't even do a trial run first. The day of the wedding was the first time I have ever curled her hair before, and guess what?

It turned out pretty good! Her hair held the curl much better than I thought it would, and she looked totally different with her curly locks.

Our son looked pretty handsome too, all decked out in his suit

...and posing with the bride

Our little family

As for our daughter's performance...well, she and the ringbearer (her cousin) both needed a little assistance making it down the aisle. My husband and his brother escorted both of them. I have no photos of this, unfortunately, since I was at the front end of the aisle, trying (unsuccessfully) to coax her to walk to me. Most of the rest of the ceremony was a little lost on me, because, well, it is difficult to keep a 19-month old quiet and still during a church service!

After the ceremony we went for a large Chinese banquet at a restaurant, where we were seated in our own private room, just perfect for all the kids to run around. There were lots of cousins to play with! And, it being the second late night in a row for my kids, they were starting to get a little crazy by the end...

Our little one showing off her dress...too bad there was no dancing!

Glad Nia's hair turned out so well. I think you are getting the hang of "this little girl hair thing!" Loved the picture of all four of you, a great family.
