Busy Week!

On Tuesday morning we went to a free kid's movie at a local movie theater. This was a big deal for us, because it was my son's FIRST movie in a theater. Well, sort of. The movie was Space Chimps, and we lasted all of, about, 15 minutes. I don't think it was the actual movie that scared him, I think he was just unsure of the big dark room and the hugeness of the sights and sounds. So we went outside and played on some toddler-sized structures until our friends came out of the theater. Our son had just as much fun, and even more when we went to our friends' house for more playing & lunch.

Then today, we went to the Met, our local art & science museum that is hosting a Bob the Builder exhibit this summer. Our son loved it. He had a blast, running from activity to activity, barely slowing down to even smile for a picture. There were a lot of hands-on science activities and of course, all the favorite characters and construction machines. Bob himself even came out to greet the kids, but our son only wanted to watch him from afar. He was NOT interested in shaking his hand or taking a picture with him. That's OK, there were plenty of other fun things to do!

When N went to the movies for the first time, he was 2, and it was Curious George the movie. He lasted until George started being mischievous (about 30 minutes) and we left the theater. (quite opposite his orderly nature then). The next movie was more successful, because it was Cars the movie! He was 4 already, and we watched it twice in the theater!
