Easter Highlights

We enjoyed celebrating our Lord's resurrection together as a family this past weekend. The ultimate highlight was worshipping with our church family on Sunday morning, but there were lots of other fun moments to share.

Our son attended 2 different Eggstravaganzas, with fun games and activities, each concluding with an Easter egg hunt. He's only two, but he got into it! Putting the eggs in his basket was more fun for him than the candy inside the eggs. In fact, he didn't even know what jelly beans were! (what negligent parents we are). He dumped them all out and played with them, like little colored balls. He does, however know what to do with chocolate!

My husband and I got a date night too! We dropped J off at Grammy's house and went out to dinner & a concert with friends from church. It was fun and took me back in time! It was also very touching to hear SCC's testimony and find that so much of what he shared about his experience of loss resonated with me and what I've recently been through. It was encouraging to see him continuing to give his music and life to the Lord.

And despite a late night out, we still had a super-productive work day in the yard the next day, and the vegetable garden is done! We planted tomatoes, basil, zucchini, eggplant, squash & a strawberry plant. Hopefully in a couple of months there will be something to eat from it!

That night, both my husband and my son had their first experience dying Easter eggs!

It's hard to say who had the most fun, the big boy or the little one!

Finally we got together with extended family for lunch on Sunday. Nothing big, but always good to have time to visit and be together with family. It was fun to have one of our friends, who is also an international student, join us.

We hope you had a great holiday weekend as well!
