The day after our visit from Miss Melpy, our family drove down to SoCal, to spend a few days A-Ma, Gong-Gong, aunties, uncles and cousins! Since the kids all had the same week off for spring break, we decided to take advantage of the opportunity to stay longer than just a weekend, so that the cousins could go on some fun outings together!
Unfortunately, Mama got sick the first night we were there. The plan was for Papa to take the train home on Sunday afternoon because he had to work, and for awhile there Mama wasn't sure she could take care of the kids all by herself, if she continued to feel sick. Thankfully, by Sunday at noon, she was feeling a lot better so she decided to stay on by herself with the kids and would drive home on Wednesday. Brave, ambitious Mama!
The family went out for lunch on Sunday at a family favorite Chinese restaurant. Even our Orange County siblings made the trek up to join us. We were all surprised, when, at the end of the meal, a cake was brought out with a number 6 on it. A birthday cake for our 6 year old son! He was very excited too.

Thankfully, we got Papa to the train station on time, and he was off on his way back home...the rest of us were able to relax Sunday evening at the SG house, which was a good thing, because we had a big day planned for Monday....
